AERODYNE CONTROLS
Emergency Blowdown and Weapons Release Systems
Aerodyne Controls delivers fully integrated, 100% fail-safe pneumatic manifold assemblies that reduce program risk, cut weight, and accelerate your time-to-deployment.
Your Source for Aircraft Pneumatic Systems and Weapons Release Systems
Aerospace and defense organizations need solutions that provide precise and tightly controlled repeatability for the components they acquire. Aircraft and aerospace parts need to be able to hold up in demanding environments, so they need to undergo strict environmental testing and adhere to compliance guidelines.
Working with Aerodyne Controls means partnering with a dedicated engineering team that will ensure your parts are made to precise specifications and they come in on budget.
Aerodyne Controls Solutions
Aerodyne Controls provides complete weapons release and aircraft pneumatic systems for our clients, helping them move away from standalone parts and instead benefit from fully integrated, reliable systems. Some of our offerings include the following.
Turnkey Pneumatic Systems
Our team combines valves, regulators, manifolds, sensors, and actuation technologies into compact, high-performance application-specific assemblies. This allows us to deliver complete “Plug-and-play” packages that
âś… Provide 100% fail-safe performance
âś… Save time and simplify installation
âś… Lower overall weight

Emergency Landing Gear Blowdown Systems
These systems deliver critical reliability when the primary extension system fails. They integrate the manifold, pressure switch, solenoid valve, and storage cylinder to activate extension and relock of the main landing gear.

Weapons Release Systems
Our systems ensure precise, repeatable actuation for stores separation in high-stakes combat environments. Operating at 3,000 to 5,000 PSIG, these fast-acting systems are flight qualified to MIL-STD-810 and currently serve on platforms like the F-35, Predator, and Reaper.
The systems use a unique two-stage process: the first stage pneumatic actuator extends to release the safety lock, while the second stage pneumatically powers the bomb rack to release the weapon.
Why Aerodyne Controls
- Extensive experience and quality standards – Founded in 1958, we’ve been providing mission-critical systems since the early days of NASA. We are also AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified, operating out of a 36,000-square-foot facility with an in-house cleanroom assembly and manufacturing.
- End-to-end engineering and testing capabilities – Our team doesn’t just assemble – we analyze, prototype, and rigorously test everything under one roof. We can provide CAD modeling, FEA/CFD analysis, and rapid prototyping of engineering development units. Plus, our in-house environmental testing includes high-pressure, cryogenic flow, random vibration, shock/impact, and helium leak checking tailored to MIL-STD, NASA, ESA, and FAA requirements.
- Dedicated partnership – When you work with us for weapons release systems or landing gear blowdown, we will work with you closely throughout the entirety of the project. Following an initial technical conversation, we’ll craft a comprehensive proposal that covers integrated solutions, client specifications, compliance needs, scope of work, pricing, and scheduling. We then conduct all vetting, testing, and validation, then deliver the associated qualification data packages.
FAQs
What if my program needs an integrated system or specification not listed on your site?
While we provide standard configurations like blowdown and weapons release systems, most of our pneumatic systems are highly tailored and application-specific, designed to meet your program’s exact needs.
Can your systems handle the extreme pressure environments required for space and launch vehicles?
Yes, our system integration capabilities easily support demanding space, rocket, and hypersonic platforms, including high-pressure pneumatic assemblies capable of handling up to 5,000 PSIG.
Do you provide lifecycle support for these pneumatic systems after they are deployed?
Absolutely. In addition to initial design and qualification, Aerodyne Controls operates dedicated global aftermarket and MRO divisions to support the long-term lifecycle needs of your platforms.
